Eve Plumb recalls ‘sweet’ date with Brady Bunch costar Christopher Knight
The pair have remained close friends and still keep in touch regularly
Eve Plumb is looking back at a surprising off-screen moment with her The Brady Bunch costar Christopher Knight, a brief attempt at romance that ended in laughter.
The actress, now 67, revealed that she and Knight, 68, went on a date shortly after the beloved sitcom wrapped in 1974, following five years of playing siblings Jan and Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch.
“It was sweet,” Plumb recalled of their outing. “It was fun, but we were really already by that time just too good of friends to make that transition into being romantic partners.”
In her upcoming memoir, Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond, Plumb offered a candid reflection on the experience, noting that any attempt at romance quickly fizzled.
“Any attempts at making out that evening ended with laughter and resignation that we’d always be sister and brother, even in real life,” she shared.
Despite the brief experiment with dating, the pair have maintained a close friendship over the decades.
Plumb revealed that they still keep in touch regularly, even holding monthly Zoom calls with their spouses.
Both actors have long since built lives beyond the show. Plumb married business consultant Ken Pace in 1995, while Knight wed Cara Kokenes in 1996.
The former co-stars also reunited publicly at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022, reflecting their enduring bond years after the show first aired.
Plumb’s memoir, set for release on April 28, offers further insight into her life during and after The Brady Bunch.
While revisiting the past, she emphasized her intention to remain respectful of her former castmates.
“Part of this book was that I really didn’t want to throw anybody under the bus,” she said in a recent interview. “I had to tell the truth about a few things, but I was cloaking it, for their sake and for mine.”
