Jonathan Majors injured in on-set stunt amid daily wire crew strike
Producers confirmed the actors were unharmed, though the incident raised safety concerns
Jonathan Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne fell through a window while filming an upcoming action movie produced by Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire, amid a crew strike over alleged labor disputes.
The incident, captured in a video published by Deadline, shows Majors’ character seemingly shot before both actors stumble backward through blinds and a window.
Audio from the clip captures glass shattering and on-set reactions, including exclamations of “Ooh!” and warnings to “be careful of the glass.”
Crew members rushed to check on the actors, exchanging reassurances: “I’m good, you good,” one said, with another replying, “I’m good.” Representatives for Majors and Kilcoyne did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The production has faced additional challenges following a strike by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) last month, reportedly over labor concerns.
Deadline reported that the window involved was made of tempered glass intended for a later stunt, which was not meant to involve the actors.
Producer Dallas Sonnier told Entertainment Weekly, “The actors’ fall was shorter than the failed movie careers of the now-union reps.”
Kilcoyne’s representative confirmed the actor “is doing well and was taken care of immediately by production,” emphasizing that he “did not feel unsafe on set” and continues to have a “positive experience working on the project.”
Majors’ career has been marked by both acclaim and controversy.
The 34-year-old actor earned praise for Da 5 Bloods and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and appeared in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
However, his trajectory was disrupted after he was convicted in December 2023 of one count of third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment.
While avoiding prison, he was ordered to complete a 52-week batterer’s intervention program and ongoing mental health therapy.
Following the conviction, Marvel Studios altered plans for Majors’ role as Kang the Conqueror, changing the next Avengers film from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to Avengers: Doomsday.
Additionally, Disney’s Searchlight Pictures returned distribution rights for his drama Magazine Dreams, which was later released by Briarcliff Entertainment.
Majors was cast in the thriller Merciless in 2024, directed by Martin Villeneuve, but the project has had no updates since the casting announcement.
