Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were informed by Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis ahead of her public announcement.

As per Mirror report, the royal expert, Tom Quinn revealed that while Harry and Meghan were notified before the televised announcement, the timing of this disclosure was strategic.

He said, "Harry and Meghan were told about Kate's cancer diagnosis, but only a very short time before the television announcement."

Quinn further added, "Telling them was a huge problem for the palace, because if they'd left Meghan and Harry in the dark until Kate's TV broadcast there was a real risk the couple would have complained that once again the royal family was treating them badly."

By informing them shortly before the public announcement, palace officials aimed to prevent complaints from the Sussexes about being excluded.

"Telling them shortly before the TV broadcast meant they couldn't complain about being ignored while at the same time the palace would know there was less of a risk the couple might spill the beans before Kate's broadcast," he said.

However, the outlet revealed that both Harry and Meghan privately reached out to offer their support to Kate and her family during this challenging time.
