Police probe suspected murder-suicide after TV star, husband found dead
The couple’s three-year-old son was found unharmed
A TV presenter and her husband have been found dead at their family home in Alabama.
Sports journalist Christina Chambers and her husband Johnny Rimes were discovered with gunshot wounds by a relative at their home on Tuesday morning.
The couple’s three-year-old son was found unharmed, offering a small mercy in an otherwise devastating scene, the Mirror reports.
Officers were called to the property at around 9am. Medics pronounced both a man and a woman dead at the scene, confirming they had suffered gunshot injuries.
In a statement, the police said: “Although the investigation is in its early stages, it appears these deaths are the result of a murder/suicide, and there is no threat to the public related to this case.”
Christina, who married Johnny in 2021, had been a familiar face to viewers, working at local broadcaster WBRC for a decade. The station paid tribute to her following the news, remembering her as a respected journalist and colleague.
Johnny worked as a financial analyst at a private company, where he had been employed for nearly 14 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
