OnlyFans model pleads guilty to manslaughter following fatal fetish session

An OnlyFans model charged with murder following the death of a client during a fatal fetish session has agreed to plead guilty to a reduced charge.

Michaela Rylaarsdam, aged 32, entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter with a stipulated sentence of four years in custody.

A spokesperson for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office confirmed the deal following the 2023 incident involving the death of 56-year-old Ralph Dale.

The victim was found unresponsive by police after he and Rylaarsdam met for a private session. Mr Dale was subsequently declared brain dead at a local hospital and removed from life support days later.

Prosecutors revealed that Mr Dale had paid Rylaarsdam over 11,000 dollars to engage in fetish play, including requests to be wrapped in plastic.

However, police arrived to find the victim with a plastic bag over his head and duct tape over his face. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death as asphyxiation, determining the bag had remained over his head for at least eight minutes.

Detective Chris Zack testified that while Mr Dale requested various restraints, he never asked for a bag to be placed over his head.

Furthermore, a roommate testified to hearing the victim asking Rylaarsdam to stop during the encounter.

The defence noted that Rylaarsdam, a mother of three, remained at the scene to perform lifesaving measures and called emergency services. She is currently scheduled to be sentenced on June 8 as the legal proceedings conclude.
