Texas mother fatally shot by estranged boyfriend
Ariana Herrera was discovered deceased inside her vehicle early on Sunday morning
A Texas mother was shot and killed over the weekend by her estranged boyfriend in what police are describing as an apparent murder-suicide.
On Sunday, at approximately 2 am, officers in Abilene were called to the Vybz nightclub on Eplens Court following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered 25-year-old Ariana Herrera deceased in her vehicle within the establishment's parking lot.
A second deceased individual, identified as 26-year-old Jalavion Beaver, was located a short distance from the vehicle.
Authorities confirmed he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigations at the scene suggest that the pair, who were estranged, had been involved in an argument in the parking lot before the violence.
Mr Beaver is accused of shooting Ms Herrera while she remained inside her car before taking his own life. The City of Abilene confirmed the details in a formal statement as they continue to investigate the tragic circumstances.
In the wake of the tragedy, Ms Herrera's family and friends have gathered to mourn her loss and support her young son.
A GoFundMe page has been established to assist with funeral costs and the future care of her child. The organiser shared a moving tribute, stating: "She was a light in our lives—kind, loving, and always there when anyone needed her. Her laughter could fill a room, and her heart was bigger than words can describe."
This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence on families.
