Prince Harry secures major victory back home after denying appeal for loss
Prince Harry had lost his legal challenge in the UK earlier this year
Prince Harry has won big in his quest for receiving state-funded security in the UK — after formally losing the case earlier this year and denying a re-petition.
The Duke of Sussex has been adamant in securing the protocol, pleading the case for the safety of his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to The Telegraph, Harry’s private communication with the British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has paid off, who has now informed him “on Friday that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) – the Home Office committee responsible for such decisions – had changed tack and had instructed its Risk Management Board (RMB) to reassess his threat level for the first time in nearly six years.”
The ex-working royal’s protection needs will now be re-evaluated after the board’s consultation with the police, the government, and his own team — the findings due to be presented before Ravec in January.
“It could pave the way for the Duke to return to the UK with his children for the first time since 2022,” the report added.
It was further outlined that “several people” have received prison sentences for fatal plots against Prince Harry, encouraging similar attacks, and making threats. He previously lost the case for his security against the UK’s Home Office back in May.
At the time, he had claimed in his explosive interview with the BBC that he won’t pursue a reappeal in his case, saying, “I don’t want any battles to continue ... this, at the heart of it, is a family dispute.”
