Pamela Anderson is looking for a major change that might surprise her fans.
In a recent interview with Vogue Scandinavia, the 58-year-old actress revealed that she has been wanting to begin her Finnish heritage by taking on her family’s original last name, Hyytiäinen.
“Sometimes I don’t want to be Pamela Anderson. I want to be Pamela Hyytiäinen,” she told the outlet, adding that she has attempted to make the change but hasn’t been allowed to.
She shared that her grandfather, Herman Hyytiäinen a logger and poet was the most influential person in her life.
Honoring him through her name feels like a natural next step. “He was the closest person to me,” she said.
Anderson further explained that the desire reflects her lifelong pattern of transformation.
“My imagination has run wild with me over the years,” she said. “You have to peel it all back many times and start over.”
Despite the renewed fame, Anderson is no stranger to public scrutiny.
Last year, she told Entertainment Weekly that her often “messy” past has become a source of strength and storytelling.
“Having a beautiful, messy life is something incredible to draw from,” she shared, reflecting on how her experiences shaped her work.
